memories are engraved in my mind and I feel blessed to have been old enough to know just
how important those days spent with them were.
To my younger cousins who did not have the great fortune to sculpt those
memories, I am sorry. Both Grandpa Parker and Grandpa Givan were two of the most
prominent influences in my life and throughout the years, they have always been with me.
To my older cousins who were able to share in my memories and create their
own, I hope you understand and cherish how important those are and how lucky we all were.
To my family who were the sons and daughters and wives of Bob and Phil,
I just want to tell you how much I loved them both, and heartfelt my sorrow is that they
are no longer with us.
To my grandpas who were not only heroes for their country during World War II,
but also heroes to a young boy growing up and learning the ropes of life, I dedicate this
site in your memories. I hope that I have done justice in portraying the men you were
and the experiences of your lives.
To the men who fought valiantly and courageously to keep sacred the American
way of life, I hope that I have also done justice to your lives and memories. I have
no way of knowing what you or my grandfathers went through during those years, and honestly,
I hope that I never will. In a letter I received from Mr. Michael West, United
States Marine Corps, he wrote:
As the man said, "War is Hell." Let's pray that your children and their
children never have to go through any kind of war. |
